Rail Infrastructure Projects - 2015/16
Client: John Holland, Leighton Contractors and Fulton Hogan.
City Circle Demolition have completed a variety of transport infrastructure projects in recent years and are now involved in the latest Victorian Government train crossing works, which will see a number of gated level crossings removed and the rail line separated from the intersecting roadway.
City Circle Demolition have become the preferred demolition experts as a result of the company’s experience, equipment resources, skilled workforce, in- house 24 hr recycling facilities and track record in consistently meeting the project demands.
These are complicated projects from a design, timing, logistics and project management viewpoint - and must not cause any significant disruption to the surrounding roads network or the existing rail systems. This in itself is an exercise in careful planning and logistics.
Recently City Circle undertook several 24 hour a day projects to remove the gates and associated buildings and structures. The teams worked in 12 hour shifts, bringing the project in significantly ahead of time and on budget.
To date, City Circle has completed projects in Burke Rd Hawthorn, St Albans, McKinnon, Bentleigh, Ormond and Bayswater. Each of these was safely completed ahead of schedule with no disruption to scheduled public transport operations.
City Circle Demolition also worked on the busy Ringwood Station and Bus Interchange project, which involved the demolition and removal of several buildings and a bridge over the railway line - in a live environment.
Safety, while being the primary consideration with each and every project, becomes even more important when operating in a public facility like an operating transport hub. This project was completed very successfully - on time and on budget.
